weekly concert performances of The Folkus Room Inc are suspended until further notice.

As was our original intention, we have reviewed our position after two years of operation and found that there is not sufficient market for any regular occurrence of the style of event we have been promoting. That is to say there is not sufficient regular attendance by paying customers to sustain or justify ongoing costs.

Having said that, we are assured that we have created a quality product in the particular way we present live music and intend to remain in the marketplace but will be devoting our efforts to the promotion and production of shows featuring the upper end of the quality spectrum and doing things less often.... more on that aspect later.

Our findings are as follow:
1. We have created and nurtured a very high quality product.
2. The so called "economic downturn" has impacted adversely on all entertainment options where an admission fee is charged.
3. There is no longer a significant market for any sort of weekly "dinner&show" live music style event.
4. There is no longer a significant market for ticketed live music unless the performance is in the very high range of the quality spectrum.
5. There are too many new entertainment options competing with traditional live music events.
6. Live music aficionados are tending to get their live music "fix" at festivals over numbers of days rather than going to "one-off" concert events unless the performance is in the very high range of the quality spectrum.
7. Performers in the mid to high range of the quality spectrum (which we were trying to promote) have been seduced by guarantees from smaller venues on a regular basis where audiences enter free of charge. Those same "fans" will not therefore attend a ticketed show when it is on offer.

What's it cost & How do we book tickets?

Our Base admission price at present is $23 ($18 Concession)

Children are ALWAYS welcome and ALWAYS free.

From time to time admission costs will vary according to several factors.

SPECIAL ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION OFFER

The Folkus Room offers annual subscriptions.

The deal is that for just $A150 you buy a ticket which entitles you to five(5) free shows PLUS any other attendances over that twelve months at the concession rate (if applicable)..... On the occasion of a "dinner&show" the offer applies only to admission to the show.

There are no restrictions as to which shows attract the free option in the offer.... The ticket is valid for twelve months from the date of issue AND is transferable.
